All the hives at the farm are finally up into their third box. They still need to build the wax combs, then fill all the boxes with honey for the long winter. They’ve got a good start, and hopefully a long fall to fill up on. As they get the comb finished up, I’ll stop feeding each one and let them fill the comb with nectar. This can already be seen with the two hives on the right. In fact 2P1702, second from the end has a honey super on. We’ll see if we can get anything extra out of them, or at least maybe they can provide some extra to give other hives that end up with less before winter. time will tell.
Despite working in IT, I prefer spending my time outdoors. I enjoy beekeeping, hiking, camping, and about anything else I can do outside. A Do-It-Yourself’er, I’ve spent much of my life learning new skills like beekeeping, carpentry, mechanics, construction, and more. This gives a refreshing break from the days of screen time we all endure.
looking good buddy!
